I've alway's wondered what those leathery lookin things on Gordon's pick guards are??
His guitars are the only ones I've ever saw with them.I have a couple theory's,-I had a bad habit of my middle and ring fingers sticking out and tapping while doing strumming song's,and I could see that these "patche's" would mute that, but so would abstinance, which I'm sure Gordon is quite capable of in this realm,,,or is it something to do with picker protection,as He utilizes the naturals????

I once asked him that very question. It's a pickguard. He uses big, triangular picks with a lot of pick sticking out past his fingers. The pick was scratching the finish.
