I had to drive to another county to get it and even risked getting the new Z28 rained on but it was well worth it.

Gord's voice is much, much stronger than what the sound clipped MP3's show. All one needs to do is listen to the title track (I did about 10 times so far!) and you can clearly hear how good his voice still is.

The songwriting is fantastic. Not one single song has been lost on me. "Have you gone away? Have you gone to stay? If you pass me by I will miss you. And if you can cry I can cry too". Just can't get any better than that.

Although it's damn near impossible to top songs like "The Watchman's Gone", "Seven Island Suite", "Shadows" etc., this CD could not have been any better. You really can't compare it to APPT or WFY or the rest of his work because just like all other 19 albums, this one too is unique and different than the rest.

Again, the sounds clips do not showcase this CD very well at all. I know they can't but they are sooooo compressed they would make Till Lindeman's voice sound weak. Gord's voice sounds very good indeed! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 10+.

Oh my! Looks like "the Watchman's gone!" (for Harmony) But I totally agree, W-man...Harmony is definitely a keeper!

Do you have the CD yet? "End Of All Time" is a masterpiece both musically and lyrically. This song I will say can be among his best work.

Yes, I have listened to it all now several times and, as I said elsewhere in a different post, there is not a weak track on the album. "End of All Time" is a very good song, but I especially find myself gravitating to "Clouds of Loneliness." And "The No Hotel" and "Couchiching" are just plain infectious. Hotel with its repetitive bass hook from Rick and Couch for Gord's repetitive vocal on the title.
Great stuff!!

I am soooo green!!
I’ve had emails acknowledging my orders but nothing yet to say they’re even in the post!!
It looks like I won't be getting my copies until May 17th at the earliest. I shall be downstairs, checking the post, every morning and then being so disappointed. And, every time I go into town this week I shall be checking in the record shops - just in case- You never know!! I could get the surprise of my life!!!! Doubt it, though. Oh, well!! (sigh)
Gord might have given up on the UK in 1981 but some of us never gave up on him!!

Watchman,

I agree, it's a 10+. But I think I would have left the title "Like A Raptor" instead of "No Mistake About It". I have to play them a few more times but I can't find a track I don't like. Sounds great blasting in the pickup.....

Hi all, great website!
I too must wait until tomorrow to get Harmony. I bought the EP off iTunes and I'm listening to those three songs right now, River of Light, Flyin' Blind and Inspiration Lady. Great stuff. Torture waiting for the rest and from some of the lucky posters who already have it, it sounds like there are some real gems. Would we expect anything less from Golden Gord?

Sorry, Bru. I apologise!!
Just put that silly statement down to a serious bad mood brought on by frustration.
(And, the damn postman has just delivered some bills, today, but NO HARMONY!!!! Grrrr.........)

Gaby,
I am only in a good mood cos I just watched Gord on that video and he looks so good!
And he is cheerful and humorous and suddenly the world is good again! BUT THERE IS STILL NO SIGN OF MY CD EITHER!!!!!!!!
I'm having to pretend by playing the 3 tracks I do have over and over ...
If you get yours before me, call me and play it down the phone, please!!!

Watchman,

I thought it was your "giddy" feeling of a new GL album, for you to proclaim that his voice was stronger...I questioned your thoughts.

After hearing the recordings, I questions your thoughts no more. You are right my friend, it is stronger.

Again, let us all look upon this work, as well as this day, as a treasure.....

Oh, my God!!! Was this cd worth the wait, or what?!!! Gord sounds wonderful and there's not one song on the cd that I don't love! I had to drive to 4 stores and go through 1/2 tank of gas but it was well worth it!

Wes,

The Watchman makes things up sometimes but he's not known for fibbing. It's great isn't it - amazing sound - and his voice sounds strong and true. Just great.

Bill

That's some mental picture (TheWatchman giddy as a schoolgirl, LOL)

got my copy from towerrecords after work, listened to it on the way home, Gord's voice sounds really good, nice photos also of him changing his guitar strings and the older ones in black and white inside, the title track alone is wonderful, sounds like gord has had some longing to get back into his singing after being down for awhile, "river of light" carries his tradtional sound but what album of his would be complete without that? i'm gonna have to listen to this a few more times cause first time around i don't get a chance to really "feel" the album, next post i will say more
