As the original Christmas album topic "question" at:- http://www.corfid.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002814.html
has grown so long and with the number of pix takes a long time to load for underprivileged
"dial-uppers" like Gaby and me
I am starting a new topic to show the fifth member of the new box set
To refresh your memory disc one and the box cover was
Now to proceed as we near Christmas itself
Our local (New York) "lite fm" radio station 1067 Lite FM has been playing a restricted
playlist of seasonal ditties and if I hear Bing crooning about his friggin' whiteout once more today I just might explode
Nearly as bad in my book is any version of something about a stupid wee drummer boy!!
however they did play a most acceptable Christmas song by Dan Fogelberg that I noted contained the words "Old Lang Syne"
which just might be "Same Old Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg.I have googled and found a lyrics page complete with the usual
(cheesy) midi at:- http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:FygeplkV8XUJ:www.clin ton.net/~sammy/syne.htm+dan+fogelberg+auld+lang+syne&hl=en
but this song is not on his 1999 Christmas album
I also note that James Taylor has issued his first Christmas album ("sold exclusively in Hallmark Gold Crown stores")
Mostly comprising some of the usual hackneyed songs
Anyway it made me think as bit more about our proposal that Gord should do a Christmas album....
Each song would not necessarily have to be an original, just a clever adaptation of an existing theme or carol such as
Hark the Herald Angels voicing rejoicing
Morning Gloria in excelsis Deo
and we earlier forgot
It came upon the east of midnight clear
Talking about "excelsis" Jimmy has excelled hisself yet again with a toddler's album
dedicated to young Harrison (Indiana?) Jones
My Disclaimer:-
The above pix are displayed with Jimmy's knowledge and permission.
Note that he even managed to include a figure that might be familiar to certain Newsgroupers Peter Treloar's kangaroo
"Skippy"
He only included the glaringly obvious Uncle Toad Said
but omitted some other obvious contents like:-
The Lost Children
If Children Had Wings
The Pony Man
and My Pony Won't Go
Peace
John Fowles

hey, that was quite an intro to my pic, John, lol
and those are great song titles guys, heh heh
well, i guess this is the opposite of Sheryl's Geriatric Gord LP (which i dug, kiddo, lol!)
i could probably turn all of gord's tunes into something kiddie related these days on 'pat' leave... here's a few that pooped, i mean, popped up :
CANARY YELLOW RUBBER DUCKIE
CAN'T DEPEND ON LOVE (OR DAD)
DRIFTERS (self-explanatory!)
DRINK YER SIPPY CUPS EMPTY
THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW OPRAH
I'D RATHER PRESS ON (OR OFF ON THAT REMOTE)
IS THERE ANYONE HOME? (IF SO, WHY'S MY CRYING BEING IGNORED?!!!!)
MOTHER OF AN UNEMPLOYED GUY'S CHILD
REMEMBER ME (I'M THE ONE WHO'LL SELECT YOUR NURSING HOME)
SIT DOWN YOUNG STRANGER (I'M ABOUT TO TELL YA ALL ABOUT THE STRUGGLES WHEN I WAS A BOY)
SIXTEEN MILES TO SEVEN LAKES AND TO SCHOOL, WALKING UPHILL, BOTH WAYS IN A SNOWSTORM!
STONE COLD SOBER, UNTIL YOUR ATLEAST 18...THEN ALL HELL WILL BE BREAKING LOOSE
WAITING FOR YOU, TO BE TOILET TRAINED
WHISPER MY NAME, INSTEAD OF SCREAMING AND YELLING UNTIL I COME
YOU ARE WHAT I AM (SORRY 'BOUT THAT, IT"S A GENE THING, YOU'LL GET USED TO IT, lol)
btw, John, i think a great tribute to the 29 lost would be "Hark The Edmund Fitzgerald Angels Sing"

OK Jimmy you are absolutely correct
I have just come up with Harrison's signature tune:-
"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face I "thought what have I done so far to deserve growing up to look like that"!
quote: btw, John, i think a great tribute to the 29 lost would be "Hark The Edmund Fitzgerald Angels Sing"
very nice Jim

OK, the neighbors definitely think I've gone off and need to be put somewhere in a locked, padded room --- I've been laughing SO hard and SO loud from Char's and jj's song titles. I think my favorite is... oh, heck, I just scrolled back and am still laughing like a loon at them all, I can't choose, sorry!!! <clutching at stitch in side>

Okay! I've been given a reprieve from long hours for a few days and I'm back full time! (For the time being).
I know he's never made a Christmas album but if he did,it had better all be written by him and not the old stand bys.
He could even take his known material and rearrange it.
"If You Could Wreath My Pine (Door)",
"My Reindeer Wont Go",
"It's (Not)Too Late,St. Nick",
"The Snowman's Gone"
and that classic of classics,"The Ring Of The Elf Fun Sliegh Bell Run"!

hey, Border, buddy, nice to have you back! Loved your song titles. However, after the "mooning" incident in the Test Forum, my mind is only running one direction (need you ask?) and I found an "extra" chuckle from your title: If You Could Wreath My Pine !!!!!

Tut Tut Jimbo you fell into the same trap that I inadverently caught Char in a while ago.
Not one of these pictures in any way affects the web space that Florian has to shell out for as by definition to show any
picture here it has to be on a web site already.
(Therefore only the text and img links are on Florian's server). In fact when I started this topic I uploaded three of your pictures to my
own website then linked to the Fogelberg and Taylor album covers where I found them,
Nevertheless thanks Jim for resurrecting this topic I got a few more chuckles from it and understood Sheryl's "Pine" allusion
for the first time! Reminds me I am aware of why we never see Sheryl posting here (it was not the fact that she first thought you were insulting her by calling her "SpecialK")
but whatever happenned to young Sidney
Freedmen???

Holy cow! I almost had completely forgotten about this topic. In fact,I don't even really recall posting those funny titles!
I can only guess I had just gotten off work or something and did them off the top of my head!
I can't think of a one right now! Man,i think I've kinda lost my edge. :D

I love what you did with the Christmas album cover(Yes,I know its not real).
I almost busted a gut laughing at "Snoop Gord".
