York, PA 6/15/10
The York, PA show is exactly one week away! I'm lucky enough to have tickets and was wondering if anyone else is planning on attending. I'm very excited...can't wait to see Gord again!

Re: York, PA 6/15/10
Thanks, MM. Yes, it will be a lot of back roads for sure. I prefer that to the freeway anyway. We'll leave early enough just in case we get stuck behind a tractor or something, lol. My seats are Section D front orchestra center - they look pretty good according to the seating chart. I plan on posting the setlist and some sort of review the next day!

Re: York, PA 6/15/10
I'm also going to York - a new theatre for me as well. Can't wait to get back to that beautiful Amish country and, of course, can't wait to see & hear Gord and the guys! It will be a 2 to 2-1/2 hr ride and I, too, am opting for the back roads as opposed to the turnpike - may as well make it an event. Hope to run into you, formerlylavender!

Re: York, PA 6/15/10
I'm hoping to see you again too, CM. I'll be on the lookout for sure. It will be about a 1 1/2 hour drive from here but well worth it. We're going to leave early to allow plenty of time and will plan on eating dinner near the theater. It looks like there are quite a few restaurants in walking distance. Can't wait!
Thanks, MM for the shopping tip. I think I passed an outlet area a few years back when we took the kids to a train museum in the area. If I could make a day of it, I'd plan on doing some shopping beforehand. Will keep you posted!

Re: York, PA 6/15/10
The area is wonderful and I'm in Lancaster County about once every month or so. York is a bit further than I usually go but it is a beautiful ride over the Susquehanna River for me as I'm coming from Southern New Jersey. The outlets are super - Rockvale and Tanger - got a great sale at Easy Spirit (for us old folks!!) last time. Anyway, Gord and the Amish country - what could be better??!! Only 3 days away. It's supposed to be 83degrees and sunny! I know we will all have a fantastic time! Welcome, mighty!!CM

Re: York, PA 6/15/10
Gord sounded great last night in York. His voice was stronger than when I last saw him in July '09. The theater was beautiful (recently refurbished) and although the show wasn't technically sold out, I didn't see many empty seats. Gord was in a good mood - smiling a lot and confident. His hair does look longer (I like it) and he wore the red velvet(?) jacket the first set and the blue vest over white shirt the second set. I noticed that he was wearing a wedding ring. He mentioned that basketball and Obama were on, and he told the two usual jokes about the hare and the moon being pale. After performing the Wreck, he spoke about the findings in the Edmund Fitzgerald investigation and mentioned that he had done three dates in Michigan. Before If Children Had Wings he said his ex-wife had taken the two oldest children to Europe for two years and he missed them. My only complaint was that he didn't do Home From the Forest - I was hoping to hear that live. I'm going to Wolftrap on the 27th, so maybe I'll hear it then.
There was a music appreciation student from York College there, and she asked me a few questions during the intermission. A group that was sitting far left of the stage complained about the sound being too low. I met up with curiousmoonbeam - it was great seeing you again!

Thanks, patybear. Sorry, no photos this time. I really wanted to wait afterward to see Gord too, but we had to head back home...family obligations you know!
