scams
I was almost delighted to receive an email subject lottery winning notification with the official uk National Lottery logo heading and address

The National Lottery
P O Box 1010
Liverpool, L70 1NL
UNITED KINGDOM
Date:28-06-2006
telling me
WINNING NOTIFICATION
next some BS then that I
"drew the lucky numbers: 14-18-29-33-37-39-47(bonus no.),
which subsequently won you the lottery in the 2nd category i.e match 5 plus bonus.

You have therefore been approved to claim a total sum of £516,778.00(Five hundred and Sixteen thousand, seven hundred and seventy eight pounds sterling only) /$921,201(Nine hundred and twenty one thousand two hundred and one dollars only)in cash/check credited to file KTU/9023118308/03.This is from a total cash prize of £3,100,673.00 shared amongst
the first six (6) lucky winners in this category i.e Prize for six balls"
Naturally I googled for "uk national lottery scam" and checked out
http://www.lottery.co.uk/info/scams.asp
which had a link to a BBC page
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/3887493.stm
this quite hilarious
and worth reading for a laugh if you have the time and inclination
John Fowles
anybody else got anything funny to contribute on these lines??

I found that Lotto logo on a nice BBC quiz site at:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/apps/ifl/fiveli...es;pagerData=1
Here is a sample question that gave me a giggle
"Edinburgh heralded in the new millennium on 1 January 2000 with five tonnes of fireworks. In New York, four tonnes of confetti rained down on Times Square. And in London, what happened?"
One possible answer I liked very much but to appreciate it fully you have to be a Brit of course
"Ken Livingstone streaked across Tower Bridge"
