I've been reading about these tribute concerts in the Toronto area, and one thought just occured to me, is there a drummer??

The reason I ask is that I have been around drums since I was 5 years old, and just like Barry Keane I am basically self taught with a few lessons tossed in.

Being a fan of Gordon Lightfoot's music all these years, most if not all the tunes are permanently etched in my brain... anyway I had been away from the drums for a long hiatus and have been busy getting my wrists and legs back in shape as I will be getting a Pearl Forum drumset set soon... ( my electric set only does so much)

Since October of 2003 I have been asked to sit in on the drums for various private functions, Christmas parties, birthday parties and I just recieved a request asking if I would consider being involved with my highschool's reunion.

I commented to my landlord who plays keyboard semi professionally that ultimately I would like to get involved with a Lightfoot tribute band of some sort and of course I was greeted with a look of skepticism.

Any thoughts on making this a reality??

There wasn't any drummer there, just the three "house" musicians playing a variety of guitars, bass, fiddle and madolin. Each musician added whatever instrument they each played as well. All of them made the songs their own, meaning in many cases far different arrangements than Gord uses. All of them had different spins on the songs, so even though it was a tribute concert, it was very much a reflection on each different musicians talent.
