The only vinyl I have is "Sunday Concert", displayed as a souvenir. I had most of Gord's vinyl up to "East of Midnight".. Long lost, now.....

Sundown - my brother gave it to me for my birthday two or three years ago. He got it from a friend's Mom when she was cleaning house. Gord autographed it for me after the Keswick show last July.

I tossed all the cassettes but kept the covers. Have two of every vinyl except Sundown. I have four of those. Two regular copies and two MFSL copies. Why do I have all of these?

I just remembered, one LP that I don't have is the quadraphonic Cold on the Shoulder. I think it was COTS. The copies I'd seen for sale were always in very poor condition so I never picked one up.

I've always thought that through the years, my Lightfoot record purchases alone accounted for several mortgage payments on Gord's upscale homes.

I believe I have most, if not all, of his vinyl albums as I started to collect in the late sixties - though not all of my records are the first pressing. I have numerous multiple copies, some of which fell victim to a 'stylus carnivorous' (a vinyl eating record needle). -devoured the records from repeated playings.

Afflicted with severe "lightheadedness", I found that I had to possess every compilation sporting a different album cover even though I already owned all the songs within. I even have the K-Tel compilation!!! (madness!!!). Then there are the Radio Station albums "not for resale". I never did collect 45's though I do have the 'Day Before Yesterday' single.

Attached are scans from my 'Two Tones' (signed), 'Early Lightfoot' (signed), 'Canadian Talent Library' and even the Czech release 'Hudba A Slova' (Cold On The Shoulder).

I won't even mention the monies spent on my Lightfoot CD collection....

2004's 'Harmony' seems so long ago - I'm having severe withdrawal and need another fix from my (record) needle!!!...or at least a CD...

* * *

No need for a big studio or record contract. We should petition Gord to get the boys together (or go unplugged) and sing a few new tunes into some readily available home studio software for distribution to his fans via the internet. That is the trend these days now, isn't it?...hmmmmmmm.....?

Well joveski if you have everything till GG vol 2, I think it's pretty fair to say you may have them all.

Correct me if Im wrong Yuri or anyone that may have information on this, but wasn't "GG vol 2" the last printed LP from Gord {1988}???

And "Waiting For You" the last cassette {1993} ???

Then everything came on CD's ?

You're probably right Jesse Joe - I really haven't kept track of the specifics of each media type - if available in vinyl I picked it up, that is until CD's were the only option. I added CDs of his older albums to my collection for the convenience of digital for I never intended to get rid of my vinyl. I never purchased cassettes - made my own for portability - pre-iPod. Each media format has its Pluses & Minuses.

Yesterday I was at our only used record store (Nevada City) and came across a mint "Salute" album. Still had the plastic shrink wrap on it. It was one dollar! I was so tempted to buy it and I don't really understand why.

Jesse, I think APPT was the last issued cassette.

Thanks Yuri & I agree with "if available in vinyl I picked it up," it is making a comeback.

Well, I'm not going to try to list them all. No real Gems like TT or EL, for rarities I have to settle for second-tier stuff test pressings of MFSL and SHADOWS, quad versions of COTS and SUNDOWN, a mono version or two of the early UA albums and many titles across the years in still sealed. That Neil Chotem GL Instrumental Songbook. K-Tel, Pickwick, and other various recycles of the UA catalog, a couple from Germany and England.

I just realized you can go up to 500K on attachments, so I'll post a high-res photo of my GL LP shelf...

Like TC says that photo of LP's looks real good, almost looks like a bar code when first looking @ it. But by certain colors you can tell it's "Sit Down Young Stranger/If You Could read My Mind" that you have severals of. To think I had mine in a stairways to heaven as jj called it.

I may try to take a shot like that then I will have my own bar code.

Am I the only one here who's had to seriously downsize? (55+ community... HEY! I got a head start. That's all..... LoL..)
Those CD's sound good but they do have their downsize like you say. To me that needle(diamond) touching the vinyl was always a great way to listen to music, and still is on occasions.
