Gordon Heavyhand(s) Good stuff, I think Jimmy Fallon is more @ ease with the talk show host than Conan will ever be. Leno is the King tho.

My wife and I were up watching this Jimmy Fallon show. When the "Gordon Heavyhand" and "Moon Up" talk started I told my wife "I betcha we'll read about this on the GL Newsgroup tomorrow." I was right. Thanks for posting the vid.

Late night Hosts

Ah... to be consistently good... That's the story..... one day, one week, one year, or in some cases many years does not a great talk show host make.
I still miss Johnny Carson. But even before that, going back to the original Tonight show,
Steve Allen, followed by Jack Paar, where you could actually learn things at times. It seems like the hosts today are more interested in presenting themselves instead of being interested in the guests and viewers.
I don't watch much of late night tv anymore. It just seems to be going more and more downhill with every year and every new host. I'm sure each of the shows has it's moments. But my feeling is that any network that would be smart enough to rerun episodes of Johnny Carson would clean up in the ratings. So much of the so called humor is either so juvenile or so mean spirtited, I just don't see the appeal of it. The doesn't seem to be any wit about it.
By the way, I do know one of the executive producers on Letterman's show.Matt's been working with Letterman since 1992, writing, producing, etc. He comes back to the Quad-Cities at Christmas and eats Christmas dinner with us at my financee's mother house.(His father and my fiancee's mother are involved as very good friends) He's always filling us in about the show, who he recently met etc...Could be some interesting talk this year. Other than Matt there aren't any real Letterman fans around the table.

I've just never have been a fan of his style of humor. I find it too sarcastic. Conan is just plain goofy. As far as Lettermans escapdes with the interns. It just goes to show you as far as the media is concerned there is a definite double standard. Steve Phillips one of ESPN's baseball analysts got fired for the same thing. In any case cheating on the one you love is wrong no matter who does it.

We liked Dave's top 10 list. I haven't seen Jimmy Fallon's show. Chelsea Handler is pretty good and according to my cousin -she has mentioned Gordon on her show.

Jimmy Fallon's show seems alright. I have only watched it a few times tho, because I don't watch tv that late. I first watched it when he had Kitty Stevens on... or was it Connie? Anyway, I miss Johnny Carson. There was something about that show. I felt sooo sad when he was saying good-bye.
