Default For Struggling Lightfoot Guitar Players - Help with Let It Ride

After hearing Gord play Let It Ride here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UskvCXhiNw

I have to try it.

I have the East of Midnight songbook. Many of the chords seem incorrect.

Has anyone figured them all out correctly??

Haven't figured it out. I'll try to get to it because I'm usually OK at such things.

The killer was I watched the video and it never shows his left hand. While I'm in there I follow a link to The House You Live In shich I just like a lot and it showed his left hand almost the entire time but I don't need help on that. I've played it on and off for years!

Oh, well.

Hello John,
Here are the chords to Let it ride. Once you see it you'll figure it out so I won't go through the whole song.

E5 B7sus4/E A add 5 B7sus4/E
These are just --will relate to you though they are not--every
E5 B7sus4/E Aadd5 B7sus4/E
If they seem --unraveling----will----not
Gmaj Amaj E5
I just let it ride so on so forth.

I hope it helps. There are several chord generator sites that can show you the positions for these chords online. Gord uses these in many of his songs including Sundown, Sea of Tranquility, among others.
Happy pickin'
Brian

Sorry John, I had the chords posted above the appropriate word, but they were condensed after posting. I'm sure you'll get it anyway.

Brian

Bar the 3rd, 4th and 5th strings on the 2nd fret
3rd (or 4th) finger plays on 4th fret
3rd string
4th string
5th string
These are the 3 rotating chords. The others are G,A,D, and Cmaj's

Hey thanks Brian,

It seems on the video he is doing for less.

almost just playing the bass notes.

Can you do a short 'show me' on a video?..on YouTube. Nice and slow.
