Re: Fitzgerald Beer and video
The Fitz of the Edmund Wreckgerald. Haven't heard this song in awhile. Last time I was burnt-out on it, because I used to play it hundreds of times a day (well, not literally, but it seemed like hundreds). Maybe now it'll recapture me again like when I first heard it.

good find, Char. Wow, hearing Reasoner state that, "all that's been found is an oil slick and some debris", brings chills the same as when it was 1st reported.

Re: Fitzgerald Beer and video
I remember seeing news coverage of the sinking, but it didn't really leave an impression on me until I heard Gord sing about it.

Re: Fitzgerald Beer and video
That's very well done. Thanks for the pass-along.
The striking part to me was how many of the perished were in their 50's or 60's (I counted 15). It just surprised me, and I'm not sure why.

That is a nice site. Since I first heard the song when I was in my early 20s and 40 seemed light years away, I suppose I just equated that line with experience rather than age. I know better now.

Also, at the bottom, you can click on one of the photos and bring up GML in 1975 or so singing "Sundown" - oh, he was just so naughty and full of fun then!
Interesting that this guy used the remake of "Wreck" on Gord's Gold Vol II and not the original...

Re: Fitzgerald Beer and video
Hey thanks for the link! I'm merely a homebrewer who made a blog concerning my wife and I and our travels, my homebrewing, and our political leanings. It was pretty cool to see some traffic from this site directed towards my blog. Hope you enjoyed what you saw. (And for the record, I did not create that YouTube video, I merely embedded it onto my blog.)
Cheers!
