Default Live Album in the Works! Cool Revelations in Birmingham

After the Birmingham show, I stayed out back and talked to Mike and Terry a bit. Mike and I talked shop about the DX7 and his midi rack. He did confirm that the band has been going through Massey shows from the 2000's for material for a live album. When I asked if it would be on Linus, he replied that he is the most junior member of the band and is kept in the dark on such matters. He joked with someone else about his junior status- only 27 years! He also was gracious enough to autograph my Harmony CD and take a photo.

Terry was speaking with someone about the Jim Gordon tragedy. If you do not know about the story behind the famous session drummer who played with Gord in the studio, co-wrote Layla and toured with the likes of Joan Baez, Frank Zappa and many others, the story can be found at wikipedia.org. Terry mentioned that the band, including Gordon, had dinner at his house, and that all the shots from the inside of the Gord's Gold album were taken in his (Terry's) back yard.

It is nice to know about those photo's inside of Gord's Gold Album, but really sad to read about Jim Gordon's tragedy. I had never heard of that. Thanks for sharing spocksbrain, and welcome to Corfid.

Amazing the things you learn in here. I knew a lot about Jim Gordon's work but had no idea what had happened to him. Sorry to see it.

Hope that CD comes out soon - we talked about it last year..

April 2007 -
CHAR: I talked to you at Niagara Falls about a LIVE recording.

G.L.: Yep.

CHAR: You mentioned the old recordings are no longer in existence? From Massey and places like that?

G.L.: I think I said that we had some stuff that went way back in the catalogue that we got rid of in the last couple of months but I will eventually have something from Massey Hall of course, there’s everything we’ve done in the last seven years. When that’s going to take place I can’t tell you because I don’t know when I’m going to bring that out. It can come out now or it can come out later.

CHAR: Well now would be good, now would be good! We would be ready for that.

G.L. We have it.

CHAR: You’ve got it….okay. (laughing)

G.L. We’ve got them.

A Live Album from Massey Hall I think would sell like hot cakes.
