Father's Birthday
Hello Lightfoot fans,
I started on this forum a few months ago and stated a request to help my father out who is a long time fan. Taking some advice, I wrote Gordon and his agent....I wrote an extensive letter explaining my situation and possible requests for my father...Unfortunetly, I haven't heard anything in the last month in a half...I am not trying to be or get down but could anyone give me any other leads or ideas to help the situation...This would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks again,
Joshua

Re: Father's Birthday
Hi Joshua,
first off, I'd suggest sending a new request for an autograph... send your own print of Gord for him to sign. I did, and recieved it back in a matter of a few weeks. Additionally I'd recommend keeping the letter as short as possible. (Imagine how many letters they receive!) I've had stuff lost in the mail, also. It happens.
Aside from that, I'd recommend the "Live in Reno" DVD. There are a variety of offerings on ebay too. Find out what dad has and get him stuff that is not in his collection... pretty simple.

Re: Father's Birthday
Hello Joshua,
I think Peter Bro 10 gave you very good advise. Gordon, his manager and the wonderful orchestra are all very busy family men. They do get a lot of mail. Do send your own picture and a very short note. You probably will get the picture back signed. Good luck and I hope your dad has a happy birthday.

Re: Father's Birthday
Hello,
I got word that Gordon is playing in Glen Side-Pa, I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me out with who I could possibly contact to get back stage passes so that my father could meet him.
Again, any help would be greatly appreciated...Josh

Re: Father's Birthday
contact Lightfoot at:
EMP
1365 Yonge St. #207
Toronto,Ontario
M4T 2P7
I'm not sure who will handle the backstage pass stuff now - perhaps Anne in the office.. or if there will be any handed out at all.
During the CFRB call the other night I said how Barry used to try to accomodate as many fans with backstage passes as he could but not too many so that Gordon wouldn't be overwhlemed and we will all miss him and his help that way.
Gordon relied that he might get a "Just say NO!" sign..
lol

Re: Father's Birthday
Josh,
The Keswick has a thing called E-Seats that you can join. It says on the website that one of the benefits is possibly meeting selected stars. http://www.keswicktheatre.com/ If you fail to get backstage the Keswick has a very fan friendly alley where the performers leave the building. Should be nice weather in June. I was able to get a picture taken with Gordon and some autographs from him. Don't forget to get some tickets. The E-Seats thing will get you close to the stage.

I have no idea of how large the crew that Barry Harvey oversaw to do stage set-ups is. Was there any mention of that role being filled ? Or is that something the band members can handle themselves ?

Re: Father's Birthday
Hi Ron,
There is a wonderful young man named Chuck who takes care of stage setup and teardown. He has been doing it for a long time and has it down to a fine science. He does have a fair sized crew but I don't know how many.
Joshua,
After losing Barry I am sure things will be a little tight as far as the meet and greet after the concert. It might be easier for youto buy a picture off e-bay and wait until Gordon leaves the building. Find out where he will exit (usually the employees of the venue will tell you), and ask for Gordon to sign it. He calls those waiting his "Street People", and says it with a smile. Just know Joshua that losing our beloved Barry will change life for a lot of us.
Good Luck and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.

Oh the hard one's first eh?
CRFB is probably something like the item in an old UK goon show script being read by Harry Secombe who read out ""Spike Miligna"
...the well known typing error". Although as far as I can see CHar correctly typed CFRB (seriously it's a Canadian radio station Deb)
