There's a song called that by a late 60's San Fransisco group known as The Amazing Charlatans but somewhere in the back of my mind it was originally a folk tune.

Anyone know anything on this?

Yes, "Alabama Bound" is considered a traditional song. Roger McGuinn and Pete (listed as Peter) Seeger performed it on Roger's "Treasures from the Folk Den."

If you're looking for The Amazing Charlatan's version, it's on their CD released in 1996, listed between "Cocaine Blues" and "I Always Wanted a Girl Like You." You can buy it on Amazon for $19.98: http://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Charlatans/dp/B00000...http://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Charlatans/dp/B00000... and maybe elsewhere for less. But it's out there.
