I know these days a lot of people don't find Thanksgiving to be very interesting or even something that might be fun. Much like Christmas is sometimes, people have such a hectic life anymore,it's a wonder they mark any occaisions at all. On the news it's beeen said that we are the most overworked country in the world. Holidays and vacations are almost something you have to beg for. So it's not to surprising that there are folks who don't get excited about Thanksgiving & other holidays. More is the pity,I believe the term is. Those of us that do look forward to it-and can gather with family- and can still feel great marking the early beginnings of our country...I say a very early Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! If you really think about it,this day should be just as important as the 4th of July. It's been me,uh,gobble. gobble. yeah.

Where did the time go??? We have already had our thanksgiving here in Canada. You are right...to much hustle and bustle in our world today. Hats off to the people who keep alive the small family traditions and larger North American traditions like Thanksgiving. Its one time where the poorest of people can feel like they have it all. Even the families that carry on the small traditions count as a blessing in this world. I mean like the Grandparents that always go out on the porch to wave goodbye to there kids and grandchildren as they leave in the car. They stay on the porch watching until the car finally disappears far down the road. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the date BS.

I love Thanksgiving! It's one of my most favorite Holidays...there are family gatherings, a lot of great food and I don't have to shop for presents (I love to give presents to those I love, but I hate shopping...yep, that's me, a girl who hates to shop!)!

Thanksgiving Day is a great time to ponder all that we are thankful for...I put family at the top of my list! Knightmoves, I have the kind of family that you mentioned...parents/grandparents/great grandma welcoming us in with hugs when we arrive and waving to us on the porch as we leave...it is wonderful to have that circle of love surrounding us!

Unfortunately, the Holidays can be very lonely and sad for some people...I would also hope that we can remember to be a little extra kind to those around us and to keep those less fortunate in our prayers!

I have been kind of into "leaves of Grass", it really applies to this thanksgiving topic. All we do we need to be thankful for. I think of our troops overseas these days and try to do what I can to bring even one smile. Today to accomplish this task i will send an e-mail to the soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and coastguardmen I know who are serving...my topic and comments will be simple. I want to thank them for being there and I want them to tell their families how grateful I am that they are there. Please be grateful, and think about them men and women in harms way today, if you can send them an electronic hug or a prayer. Know they would not trade places with you, we all have our mission, but, think of them and what they sacrificed today for you.

I wish I could send the world E-Mails just to make someone feel better. I'm not a parent or grand-parent of course but I am one of those folks who wave good-bye to a family member when they drive off until they're clean out of sight. It wouldn't be right not to. I do know I'm thankful for my family,my great friend Lisa who hasn't drifted off like so many other "friends" I've had. I'm thankful for my God-daughter,who I love like my own. I'm thankful I have a job and of course my health and the fact that I wake up and can face the world again. No matter how aggitating it can be. Last but not least,I'm thanful there's this site and you all out there. You all? I went small town there for a moment. Let me be the first to say Happy Holidays to all of you and may next year be 100 times better than this one. Later!

I have a big family on my Mom's side of the family. You know I look forward to the "Big Feast" (got it from "Big Fitz")

Hey, B-Stone, did you read the "Borderstone read this" topic in the testforum? It's just a cheap prank. If you went to it and your computer froze, I typed a bunch of smilies(frownies) so if your computer did freeze, you would become frustrated and wondering what in the h*ll I had wanted you to read. In fact, I typed so many it wouldn't let me type anymore words at the bottom.
It's good to get back on this site for once.

Yes I read it and nothing like computer freezing happened. I guess these library PC's are well made.
