I was just on TicketMaster and now the Duluth (Sept 23) tickets will not be on sale until Sat. Aug 25 at 10:00 a.m. Good God, at this rate, they will be on sale the morning of the concert.
Just a few days ago, the tickets were listed to go on sale on Aug. 17.
I hope the DECC is full for the concert but if it is not, I will wonder how much the late ticket sales affected attendance. Whoever is promoting the Duluth concert should go back to business school. Don't you want to lock people's schedules in as soon as possible? In my book, it is sbsolutely asinineto promote a concert with such late ticket sales.
Is there any rationale that I am missing?

re: hope the DECC is full for the concert..
I certainly have my doubts..
The last show I saw up there a couple years ago there were many empties in the back (also a Sunday night show, and lousy weather that day)..
I would think with the real small market up there that all the time they can get to sell'm would be the way to go..
it's odd fer sure..

Isn't there someone you know and trust on this board who can help get tix for ya asap?..

Hi RJ,
I have the same problem, we're leaving for Calgary the day before, but it looks, you can order tickets also directly by phone, without bloody Ticketmaster. It even seems, they're offering kind of 'mail in' ticket order. I'm going to call them or write an email to check what we can do. If it's only by phone, I'm doing it from Canada. If you want me to, I could offer to get your tickets too. Just let me know.
It is all really strange, bringing the tickets out for sale just four weeks before the concert... I don't know, it all sounds like we're going to see a lot of empty seats. Gordon won't be pleased, I guess!

I had the same feeling in January, and tickets also went on sale 4 weeks before the event. The place was sold out. So, keep on top of it.

Claudia & Seafarer:
Let me know if you want me to help. I could go on-line the morning of Aug. 25th and get the tickets for you guys, although I won't be getting any for myself as I'll be going to 3 other GL shows that week! Sometimes it's impossible to get through on the phone.
Just let me know.

GitchiGumee:
Thanks for the offer but I'm going to be OK that day now. My wife just told me that we won't need to leave for the wedding we are attending until about noon that day.
Wedding is in Duluth late that afternoon. Outdoors near Lake Superior. Duluth in August one can either sweat to death or freeze. Nothing much in between.
Never will forget when Gord was in Superior, WI in August 1995. Clear but cool day at the outdoor concert field right by the lake, a stones-throw from the Burlington Northern loading dock from where the Fitzgerald last loaded.
It was cool by the lake that evening and out comes Gord in a short-sleeve Hawaiian shirt. Some lady in the front-row next to us yelled out, "Put some clothes on." Gord looked at us and said, "I'm allright, really.... I am."
He proceeded to deliver a great concert. Will never forget that he sang the Fitzgerald as the sun had just set and twilight was creeping in. One of my favorite Lightfoot concert memories.

Seafarer, so glad you got the ticket problem solved. Maybe our paths will cross at one of the other concerts in Minnesota. I'll be at Rochester on 9/21 and Minneapolis on 9/22.
Also, I loved to hear your memories from the Superior '95 concert. As you can see from my Member Name, I have a soft spot for Superior/Lake Superior.
I would LOVE to have been able to or to be able to see Gord perform at an outdoor concert. There's just something extra special about them.
