A reader sends us her magical MP3 shuffle moment.

When: Evenings after day-care kids are gone

Where: At home in Whitby

Conditions: Working on stained glass with the CD player at full blast over the sound of the grinder. I don't like headphones.

Caveat: I'm a lifelong Lightfoot fan

Who: Char Westbrook, single mom, day-care provider, music lover

"Perfect Politician," Rick Fines

"My Heart Has Wings," Aengus Finnan

"A Painter Passing Through," Gordon Lightfoot

"My Daily Bread," Jason Fowler

"Imaginary Friends," Ron Sexsmith

"The Pilgrim: Chapter 33," Kris Kristofferson

"The Ballad of Easy Chair," Jory Nash

"Drifters," Gordon Lightfoot

"Too Sober To Sleep," Justin Rutledge

"Summer Side of Life," Gordon Lightfoot

Now THAT's alternative music! Got your own list of songs that suited your mood and circumstances as if by magic? As if the device that produced it peered into your very soul? Send it to pscowen@thestar.ca and we'll publish it. Please include When, Where, Conditions, Caveat and Who.
