Has anyone ever had the following feeling? Have you ever found yourself listening to another artist other than the finest singer/song-writer ever to grace the face of this earth(Sir Gordon Lightfoot) only to find yourself thinking your time would be better consumed listening to the aforementioned "finest".
From one mans viewpoint...Gordon is indeed a mans man (and a women's man in another sense). By that I mean, he does such a superb job of conveying his thoughts about: love found, love lost, sailing, fishing, spanish moss, beautiful women, trout, loons, blackberry wine, summer, the great white north, dance (Dan's) records, triangles, 3 way scripts...I could go on but you get the point.
I personally went through a terrible divorce a few years ago and it was Lightfoot (and my Lord...Jesus) who brought me through. I'll bet there are a lot of you out there with similar stories.

Amen, brethren! Did you ever notice how the Song of Solomon in the Old Testament is easy to understand if you read it like a Lightfoot song? I'm not saying Mr. Lightfoot was given the divine wisdom of King Solomon, but the images and metaphors are pretty cool.

To Brian 57. Now,I don't know just exactly how wise Solomon was for certain but what is wisdom but the acquired knowledge we gain through life experiences and maturity? It's also looking at the situation without bias, prejudice or expecting a pat on the back. Those who know, they gladly pass it on to others. "Gordon Lightfoot,to me,is just as wise as he." "For all man and all Kings can be wise equally.(the tune of:"Race Among The Ruins " 2nd 1/2 of 1st verse.) Catch ya later!
