Greetings, corfidians!

The show last Wednesday evening was great. The house was about 3/4 full. Not bad for a Wednesday night. Only the least desirable seats went unsold.
The voice was rather "croaky". Yet if I'm typical of those who have been followers since the '60's, I think we hear the young Gord in our "mind's ears". Besides, just being in the same building with Gordon Lightfoot for a couple of hours is worth the price of admission. He adapts well to the limitations with which age and health challenges have presented him. My best analogy would be (It's a sports analogy. Sorry!): He's like an aging pitcher who knows he just doesn't have that 90 mph fastball anymore. Yet his years of experience inform him as to what "junk" pitches to throw to get the job done & retire the hitters.
Gord no longer has his fastball, but he still gets the job done!
My wife had an interesting observation on the drive home: "You don't consider yourself religious, but tonight you looked like a guy in church to me!"
I dutifully took pen & paper along and recorded the set list:

Triangle
Cotton Jenny
14 Carat Gold
Never Too Close
Waiting For You
Painter Passing Through
Rainy Day People
Shadows
Beautiful
Carefree Highway
Hang Dog Hotel Room
Ribbon Of Darkness
Sundown
The Watchman's Gone

Intermission

Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
Alberta Bound
All The Lovely Ladies
Clouds Of Loneliness
In My Fashion
Ring Them Bells
If You Could Read My Mind
Don Quixote
Baby Step Back
Canadian Railroad Trilogy

Encore: Old Dan's Records

Hope y'all are having a great weekend

What a good little scribe you are, obviously well trained in the needs of the faithful followers. So nice of you to remember the set list for us. Glad to see Watchman's Gone making a steady comeback, one of my favs, and Hangdog Hotel Room, also a great favorite.
I love your wife's comment. A true fan you are!
