When did everybody's IP numbers become available in the lower right corner of the message?

The IP address is always available to a "form" on a web server. I don't know when this discussion group first showed it. But it doesn't do a lot of good, if you are looking to identify people. Unless the person has a fixed IP address, which most people do not, it will only tell you the ISP, and that only if you know how to look it up. But you can then tell if the person is on (say) AOL, or Mindspring, or whatever.

I have a fixed IP address in CT but I post with my regular e-mail address so you don't need to guess! (I am not in CT now, but my IP address tends to stay constant for weeks here in Saratoga).
