I was very blessed to grow up in a very tiny town in the heartland of America. This Summertime Dream was my childhood, and now, city woman that I am, everytime I stand on a dirt road, hearing a fly buzzin', or listening to the bees in the alfalfa, or swim in a pond, I am a child again, and life is light and easy. Lightfoot's song, Summertime Dream, takes me back to what was really an easier, softer time...a time where the only real fears I had were of "twisters" in the spring, and a "whuppin'" if I was naughty. I roamed the countryside, without any thought of harm, and grew up in the Summertime Dream.
