That is good to see. Number 7 is tremendous. I'm still trying to figure out why anyone in the year 2004 would want to listen to Guns N' Roses though.

I just had a thought. If Gord were well enough next february, it would be incredible to have him perform at the Grammy Awards. I'm sure they are already cementing the performers now, but wouldn't that be special. I get SO tired of all teh rap/hip-hop artists! I do go to rehearsal and saw Elton/M&M and U2 a couple of years ago, bur Gord there would be THE best!

Don't they give an award at the Grammy's
for lifetime achievement? Maybe we should start an internte campaign aimed at NARAS!

Charlene, long time no see on here! You don't know Guns & Roses? The best heavy metal band ever in the late 80's & early 90s.
Usher by the way,is the top male R & B singer in the U.S. right now, having had 2 back to back #1's. I have also heard of Hoobastank & Black Eyes Peas but not to familiar with their work.
Violet,I still listen to G N/ R. Not because I'm living in yesterday but because their music is still the best of their kind! Currently,by the way, their new greatest hits CD has already reached #3 on the Billboard album chart. They still have fans! Been me,Aurevoir!

Borderstone - I am OLD! Like dirt is old...I never listened to Lez Zeppelin or other bands like that when I was younger either...Loud, screaming, jumping around entertainers (?) were never my thing...I was into Lightfoot at 15.....he set the bar way up there and no one has come close other than a select few, but Gord is always Number 1.
I'd rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than some of that noise.!
lol

Actually, I believe Gord already got one of these( not that he doesn't deserve another!!). What he SHOULD get is a COMEBACK OF A LIFETIME AWARD! They should actually create this - it would be neat!

Sadly no, he's gotten very little from the Grammy's, and never a lifetime achievement award. I believe he's received just about every honor possible in Canada, but not in the U.S.
This would be the year for it though, hmmmmm, wonder how that happens. Time to surf a bit. Good thing the boss is out of town for the day

My mistake - they certainly DO need to recognize his immense contribution to the international music industry over the span of now 5 decades. Incredible!

Char you were Charlene again, did you remember your password? I did recognize four of the list beside Gord. Led Zepplin actually was a great group, I played some of their music at my husband's funeral (nothing to rockin') he was a fan but he was a fan of Gord too. He knew who was good.
