I forgot to mention in my other topic, we also got the brand new album called Harmony. My mom and I liked it right from the start, but my dad is still having a little trouble getting into it. How many Lightfoot albums are there? So far I've heard the Sundown, Summertime Dream, and Summer Side of Life albums. They are pretty good. I might order me a new album soon, but which one?

Hi Harmony,
If you do a search you'll see a thread or two dedicated to the Harmony album. Most agree it's wonderful, just differ on what our favorite song from it is.
Harmony is Lightfoot's 20th album of original material, so you have quite a variety of titles to choose from for your next purchase.
Shadows from 1982, still has that deep voice on it, or for something with a 1970s flavor is Don Quixote or Cold On The Shoulder. Newer albums include A Painter Passing Through and if you can find it, Waiting For You.
You can find a link to a list of his albums on the home page of this site.
ps. you'll get lots of differing opinions on which album should be next, lol. You're pretty much on you're own there, but all of you, including your dad would probably love Shadows.

i agree with LSH and welcome! like LSH said, there r many topics dedicated to many of nthe albums, including Harmony. My topic 'Harmony Fav's' is one of those many topics. If you can still get it, try for The Complete Greatest Hits, which includes the vary rare REstless from the Waiting For You album. Have fun and visit my site below or John Fowles' site www.johnfowles.org.uk/lightfoot
or Wayne Francis' site www.lightfoot.ca

At the risk of sounding foolish, I officially and proudly admit that HARMONY is now my favorite Lightfoot album--ever!
I love it to pieces, every track, flaws and all. Still have yet to tire of any of the tunes; still look forward--with glee--to tossing it on the turntable.
What's gotten into me?

A masterpiece. I play it every day and I find it to be - in my opinion - one of Gord's best albums ever. Salute!!!

Harmony is in my top five Gord albums of all time. That's really saying something because my fave Gord tunes can change on a daily basis!
From Harmony itself, River Of Light and Shellfish are my absolute favourites.

just a little snippet I found on the web, Gord talking about Harmony:
Lightfoot says, " 'Harmony' is my favorite track. I also like 'River of Light.' It's a positive song about getting away from it all, getting away by yourself."

I like it pretty good. The No Hotel & River Of Light are the best on there.

I love Harmony and I don't say that lightly. When I first heard the 3 clips released on one of the music sites, I was very disappointed and was not shy about stating that in this forum.
When I bought the CD, I filled my gas tank up with gas and hit the country roads with nothing to do but get lost and really give Harmony a fair listen with no distractions. All it took was hearing the title track all the way through for the first time and I started it over because I could not get of enough of what he was saying. Same with "End Of All Time". It really summed up my thoughts and put closure to a huge loss in my life. Heck, for the first time in months I felt like somebody really, really understood what I was going through. So yes, I really like Harmony and I think anybody would be hard pressed to find better written lyrics.
Heck, I keep an open mind about music (I've tried to like The Beatles many times but can't) and if a song takes me to that place where the singer is singing about, it's art in it's most powerful form. Harmony contains a few such songs.
