Here's a trivia question to get the grey matter in gear. What hit singles by Gordon Lightfoot were initially issued on 45 RPM and what were the flip sides? Also...what was your favorite flip-side?

The original flip side of If You Could Read My Mind was Poor Litte Allison. When it was reissued, it was Me and Bobby McGee.

How about "Softly"/"If I Could" on United Artists?

My Copy of "The Way I Feel" from 1966 has "Peaceful Waters" on the B. side.

Sundown has "Too Late For Prayin' ".

and my copy of "Wreck" has "Race Among The Ruins." More later,my time's up!

Just a note to say thanks... Probably the only 45 I ever purchased was The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and it's been years since I've seen it, and the flip side slipped my mind. Thanks to you and Google, that little bit of my memory has been refreshed.

I never bought a Gord 45. Bought the LPs from the git-go. I did, indeed, by 45s, but there were those few folks (yes, Brother Ray, John Stewart, and particularly Gord)who I knew in my bones would only allow gems anywhere near their names.

I'm enjoying all this new info. Keep 'em flyin'

I've never even seen a 45 from GL! I was a total album junkie back then. I will say however that the first 45 I ever bought was Janis Joplin, Me and Bobby McGee. I think I was in the 4th or 6th grade.
