Yes, well, it's about damn time! That man is also a master songwriter. He does a beautiful job creating pictures with words. Before I discovered Gord,Kris was my "master of the 3 minute song".
Remember Sunday Morning Coming Down? aaahh, memories...
Thanks for scoop Char!

Kris is the reason I first saw Lightfoot- Kris and Rita Coolidge (wife at the time) were at Massey Hall...Gord got up and sang Bobby Magee with Kris...May 1973. First Lightfoot concert - 1975.
Seems so long ago - priceless memories.

Absolutely priceless memories. wow Char.
lucky woman, you.

Although, and I may get bombarded here, I think Janis Joplin recorded the best version of Me and Bobby...
She also sent a letter to Kris saying, this is the way it's supposed to be sung...and she rocked it..they had a thing for a bit..

ps. he's still hot, isn't he? my mom says he's scruffy...maybe that's the way I like 'em, who knows?

I never did like Janis' music, to me it was nothing but screaming and making no sense to me at all... now Nazareth on the other hand lol

Great for Kris -- he one of the icons of country music.

A bit off subject, but Kris is involved...
the most influential artists on me: Gord, Kris, Karla Bonoff, and Leo Kottke. Each set the standard in their field. Many others too numerous to mention follow close behind.

Kris K ... sigh.......

As for Janis Joplin, I'm a fan. Any of her songs come on the air, I stop to listen. Love "Ball and Chain", "Piece of My Heart", "Mercedes Benz", even "Summertime." And, yeah, "Me and Bobby McGee." They weren't particularly good on their own but as a backing band? Well, she should have stayed with Big Brother and the Holding Company. For one review of her albums, see http://starling.rinet.ru/music/janis.htm

Kris had IT and still has IT..Those eyes and that great hair-even at 68 he's adorable. his fabulous voice makes him the one best suited to sing his songs. i like janis joplin but not enough to buy an album. kris and her had a thing..he never knew she recorded Bobby Magee until after her death.
Austin Sessions released in 1999 is terrific.
he's living the good life in Maui with his wife and their kids.

Google Karla Bonoff -- she has a solo site and a Bryndle site where you can buy autographed CDs.

When I was in high school (a ways back), I saw Kris and Rita at a concert. I still remember how terrific the conceert was-both the music and the interaction between the two. So sweet. But time flies, and it didn't last. At least the music remains.
