I've been listening to Gordon Lighfoot albums for more than 30 years now and I have to say I think the latest is one of his best... I first heard him in 1971 while working on a newspaper in South Africa. I was in bed late at night reading a book with the radio on.. If You Could Read My Mind came on and it stoped me in my tracks.. completely knocked me out, I felt as if I'd just read a great novel and wanted to read it again and again.. and so I did over te years. Harmony is a stunning piece of work considering all he has been through. Shellfish sounds like a standard already, in fact most of the songs stick with you after just one play.. how many other artists can do that? Very few. I'm a huge BeachBoys fan, you'll find me on Brian Wilson's website most days, I even started a fanzine there for the people who go on his board but it's Gordon's albums I continually go back to, he is an incredible storyteller and a truly fine musician.. just felt I had to say something after finding his latest album in an obscure record shop in Newcastle last week and almost wearing it out within a few days...

Woo-hoo! Another Beach Boys fan at this website! I'd begun to think I was alone.

After several weeks of listening, my esteem for Harmony has only increased. Such staying--and growing--power suggests that the opinion of most here is spot on: Harmony really is a wonderful, classic recording.

More on this great album: I have not stopped playing it since picking it up in the record store in Newcastle on Tyne, England.. I'm based in Glasgow, editor of the Metro newspaper, world's biggest free paper, one million copies a day throughout the UK, 120,000 in Glasgow and Edinburgh. So two Beach Boys fans on the site.. have you heard Brian's new album???? Very very disappointing.... I got kicked off his website for a non too positive early review..then his wife Melinda asked me to go back... so is Gordon heading to the UK at all soon????

Another Beach Boy fan here! Brian's new album is good. Seeing him at the Royal Festival Hall in less than 4 weeks! Cannot wait.

I wouldn't expect to see him. Other than a release party in Toronto on the day the CD was realeased, I don't know of any promotional things he's done since the day of release....

The only way I ever saw the Beach Boys was on a televised special in 1980 from D.C. (before they were thought by the Reagan Administration to attract the wrong element ) No offense to the late Pres. intended,just that decision. Later!:cool;

One can only hope that Gord has more unpolished demos laying around...Harmony is so relaxed and enjoyable! Several of these cuts ought to be on Gord's Gold III should he ever put out a such an album.

"Gord's Gold III" That sounds like a great idea. I would hope to see "Harmony" on top as first song!
