Most embarrassing radio moment: Calling Gordon Lightfoot 'Gordon LightFeet' and 'LightWeight' on my radio show prior to a concert he was doing in Toledo. That night, while I was waiting backstage to go out and do the stage announcements, he came up to me and asked me to leave. He evidently heard my show that day and was apparently sensitive about his last name. True story.

Man, that was just rude!! And classless. Good for Gord for asking him to leave!! Somehow though I doubt this dude learned his lesson. He should have felt ashamed, not embarrassed!!!
Though not as extreme an occurence by any means - a girl I know told me that in the 80's while she was on the housekeeping staff at the Marriott, her supervisor gave her a warning to 'stay away from him' while Gordon was staying there. She kept joking around with the staff that she was going to try to meet him and call him, "Mr. Bigfoot Brightfoot".
She did clean the manager and band members rooms, but as a preventative measure they wouldn't let her go near Gordon's. She knew all the guys names so she readily knew who was in which room...since their initials were listed next to their room #'s. And "G.L." and his room # was also on the list and she contemplated following through on her joke with the staff. Of course, she knew that would have meant being fired. Now though, she's glad she didn't approach Gordon (she claims that she really was going to do this) and she regrets not having saved that list.
