George Hamilton IV

Hi all!
You know, I have always been a huge fan of the legendary George Hamilton IV who I understand recorded a lot of Gordon Lightfoot material. Can anyone give me a little bit of info on his relationship with Gord and how they became friends? You know there is an unbelievable box set on his recordings from about 1954-1965 which I have always wanted to have and that will really be my dream come true. Is there anyone out there who happens to have this 6 CD set on George's early work? I understand that set doesn't feature his version of Early Morning Rain. Are they still close friends I wonder? Hope all of you are well! I guess my all time favorite song by George will always be Aballeen and also Before This Day Ends.

What followed was to be a mutual admiration pact between Mr. Lightfoot and Mr. Hamilton that has lasted for many years. Both get great enjoyment out of being together...

...the inspiration for this sound came from the footprints on George's heart, soul and mind left there by the restlesss, creative cowboy boots of Canada's Gordon Lightfoot...

...as George IV himself recently said " Lightfoot has influenced my life more than any other man outside of Chet Atkins and John D. Loudermilk, and besides being a damn good friend, I think of him as the master, the teacher and the best of 'em all"..."

any there's more but my caffiene just wore off...i know that John F is thinking "why doesn't jj just get himself an optical character reader?" ...ok, i have one but needed the typing practice

i'll have to get this LP digitized sometime

You're darned right jj I am assuming from the end of your note above that you do have a scanner and thus you will indeed have in the software that came with it some sort of Optical Character Recognition software.My HP 3-in-one scanner/copier/printer came with the most excellent readiris programme
