I disagree that "Sundown" is boring, and the fact that everyone has heard it may actually work in its favor.

I would nominate "Winter's Night" and "Borderstone." I think they'd go over well in a coffee house.

Totally OT as far as GL songs go, but I once performed Martina McBride's "Cheap Whiskey" in a bar setting.

I didn't think it would fly, because drinkers wouldn't want to hear the "he's sorry he ever started drinking" message, and non-drinkers wouldn't be in a bar.

But it got big applause....

Audiences are unpredictable.
