This topic is VERY close and dear to me. I
enjoy a healthy discussion about it because
not alot of people find it as interesting as I do. Watchman, I think that our opinions
are actually very similiar in many ways. I can get carried away with "guarantees" but
I assure you that I am more schooled on this
disaster than most.
I think part of my problem is that I've taken
Gord's song and this shipwreck on such a personal level. I can't explain it.
I was thinking about Jenney's post about GL
not granting permission to use the song in the movie. I hope that they can reach an agreement with Lightfoot somehow. Someone always profits from someone else's misfortune. It's not always unethical to do so. Thousands of Funeral Directors will agree with me.
I watched Deep Sea Detectives on the History Channel (runs on cable TV or satelite) and they used about 25 seconds of Gord's song.
It is my understanding that this channel is
not a non-profit entity. So who knows?
