Aengus is a wonderful singer songwriter. He has a beautiful voice and a way with words that is his own yet similar to Lightfoot in that he writes of the common people, hardships, Canada, love lost, ships and railways and mining. His admiration and respect for Lightfoot is apparent not only in this song he wrote for him but in all of his songs I think. I attended the live CD recordings in May over two nights for Aengus' 3rd CD. They were held just east of me in Grafton which is in Shelter Valley where Aengus grew up. The town hall was the setting and the acoustics were great. It was amazing and I can hardly wait for the CD to be available in the fall. His first two CD's are gems. He has won awards and received accolades for all of his work. All deservedly so. Read the bio page, listen to the other MP3's...look at his previous tour schedules..he's a dedicated, passionate performer. He and Jory Nash were responsible for the Tribute shows in Toronto in Jan.03 and 04. I attended them all. The first year was outstanding but this past January saw 3 nights of perfection. And of course Lightfoot himself came to see and hear the show one night. Jenney and I attended all 3 nights and our only regret is that the performances were not recorded in any way. We have our pics and memories tho! Jory and Aengus and Terry Tufts are doing an east coast U.S. Tribute show this fall. Towns are on the tour page I believe. They are listed on Jory Nash's webpage as well. His rendition of Mother of A Miner's Child still haunts me. They are two of the nicest young men, full of talent and dedication and passion for their craft. I can't speak highly enough about them both.
I can't remember how to post a pic and I';ve lost John's tutorial-crap-he's gonna kill me...I have a couple of pics I could post.
