well, you are very well versed. My husband is studying the Cuban connection to dulcimer as well, it is quite interesting how the music hasspread around the globe. Technically most people think a jig or reel has European and I think the jig has Irish roots (not sure about reels). But, there are connections in every language and all over the globe. My daughter plays classical violin but, she is trying to learn bluegrass now (which my father encouraged her to learn as a youth and she did not have a teacher (she sight reads only), so, now she is having a time of finding someone to teach her and listen to how she is doing with it.
