I think you must be talking about Shirley from Oklahoma City. Both Shirley and Doug (Plumguru) still post on the newsgroup, along with a few other oldtimers, and I'm sure they'd love to hear from you. Do you know how to access newsgroups?
Incidently, I also had a brain injury. In August, I had a ruptured aneurysm between my left temple and eyebrow, and I know exactly what you are going through.
I've been going to therapy ever since, and am still attending a brain injury clinic. At first, I had just about NO short term memory, but it seems to be coming back.
