Gord's Gold is definitely a "must have" CD. )(Well, one could probably say that for all the CDs with the possible exception of some of the EMI compilations). The rerecorded versions of his 60s songs are treasures, and for those that he has continued to perform live, the GG version is very close to what you hear live now.
I remember my first Lightfoot concert; I went to hear Wreck. I was amazed to discover that he (and not PP&M) had written Early Mornin' Rain and For Lovin' Me. But I was blown away by CRT. I went out the next day and bought the CD, so now I had Summertime Dream and Gord's Gold. Needless-to-say, that was only the beginning. CRT is my #1 favorite, and Wreck is #2 (I think for Gord, the reverse is true). I later heard the original recording, and the live version on Sunday Concert. All of them great.
You can't go wrong.
