There's also another "Wreck" Anniversary. It was 27 years ago this week that it hit the national top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

At #3,it seemed poised to take over the #1 spot from The Steve Miller Band's "Rock 'N Me". The following week Rod Stewart jumped ahead of him and sat at the top for 8 weeks with,"Tonight's The Night". As we know,Gord had to settle for #2. Had he gone to #1,it would have been a bigger hit than "Sundown". The pop charts are as dangerous as shark infested waters! In an odd coincidence,he peaked at 2 exactly 1 year after The Fitz sank! Been me,later!
