Good Lord! I made no sense whatsoever in the previous post. Senility must really be setting in.
It's hard to put into words the fact that things can seem humorous at this advanced age. It's not that we have become jaded, but there is a certain irony to death now. But, you accept it, and it doesn't seem upsetting. This really impacted me about a week ago when my husband and I were dicussing an old acquaintance. He said "I wonder if HE is still alive." Up until recently he would always say "I wonder where so and so is now." But, now after a couple of years of real health problems, life is looked at in different terms, but not necessarily with fear. I aften wondered it this day would ever come. It does.
