Is the static present only when the truck is running? If so, it's probably interference from the ignition system or some other electrical device in the vehicle. If the radio is factory, there should be some kind of radio noise suppressor in the circuit. If it's aftermarket, there may just be a bad connection to ground. Or, the radio itself may be bad (more likely this than the speakers). I assume the same noise emanates from both speakers... which would tell you it originates at the radio.
You can also buy radio noise suppressors from Radio Shack; the guys will tell you where and how to install it (if that turns out to be the problem).
