Many of you may have guessed that I'm a high school teacher. One of my colleagues asked me to come into her grade 9 class to play IYCRMM. I gladly obliged. They had been studying poetry and had found "The Way I Feel" in their poetry textbook. She thought that it would be neat for the students to hear another Gord song live. So we had some fun. However, in the end, they began discussing the song. It was amazing to see how quickly they picked up on the imagery and poetic techniques in the song. I realized as I listened to them discuss just how amazing that song is with all of the metaphors, similes, and images that convey the feeling that he has (or lacks

) What a great song. I think some grade nine students realize it too. If there are any teachers in corfid land, consider using this song in a lesson play. I'll let you know what happens when I play Wreck for a grade 11 class a few weeks from now.
Happy listening!
