I was also at the show last night and posted my remarks in the thread I inititiated. But I'll post here as well. Read on.

***************************

We had a terrific time at last nights Boston show. It was an extremely enjoyable perforamnce. The Orpheum was a very comfortable setting, although it is in serious need of a renovation. The place was pretty well packed except for the extreme side sections.

I didn't know wha to expect from him as far as stage presence is concerned. Seems liek I was told he is mostly quiet with little crowd interaction. This was not totally so last night. Gordon came out to a very nice standing ovation. It was quite evident that he was moved by the opening reception. I think that put him at ease with the crowd as he was very relaxed and introduced a number of his songs with a short story.

As was noted on other show reviews, it took him a handful of songs before he was fully warmed up. Even when he was warmed up, his voice was still somewhat frail. But that was expected considering his recent health issues. Yes it was frail, but it was still delightful.

He performed for two hours, with a short intermission miday, covering most of his career. Most of what you find on Gords Gold was covered, with the noticeable excpetion of two of my favorites, "Softly" and "Summer Side of Life". IIf I was to be pinned down for a hi-lite, it was a great rendition of "If You Could read My Mind". He nailed it. It absolutely brought the crowd up off their chairs to a nice standing "O". He was a little off with my GL favorite, "Beautiful", but it was still nice. After two hours, the crowd brought him back out for two encores, and GL seemed to be very thankful for the love being thrown at him.

This was a very nice show. Not a great show, but still very enjoyable. I hope Gordon continues to get stronger and I would love to see him again.
