OK OK yer tis here is the link to the alternative Gordon Lightfoot Chat Room that AnneOK has organised
http://www.chatzy.com/885842072610 simply:-
1.click that link
2.enter your nickname.
3.Select the colo(u)r that you would like your text entries to appear in then
3.enter this password Harmony.
but note that the password is case sensitive so make sure you use a capital "H'.
"harmony" all in lower case will not cut the mustard.
Time 9 pm EST this evening
I never heard back from my contact at:-http://www.dilexnet.net
And trying the site now one is still informed
"The Dilex-Networks Homepage is currently down."
Yet using my famous red button link on my site:-
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/chat/
works a treat albeit opening the channel with the aid of mIRC.Sorry but I cannot use Java applets now myself on my new windows XP setup
So I do not know if entry by that method is again possible.
I suggest those who can try and want to chat evaluate the "chatzy" experience this week then we can dicuss and decide whether to continue with it or revert to the older method,
Bearing in mind that at least one of the regulars has an irrational dislike of mIRC, I have to say to the point of being on the brink of a nervous breakdown so to speak, and as far as I can tell the certainty that as more and more chatters get the later Windows with the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine omitted means the forthcoming end of using the relatively simple Java Applet entry method.I will when the dust has settled edit my chat page at:-

One final point. the chatzy room uses Javascript (not directly related to Java despite the confusing choice of name).
If the chatzy room fails to open it is probably due to you or your computer's administrator turning off Javascript in your browser's options due to the perceived security risk.If so use your browser's help to find out how to restore Javascript handling
