To me they're completely different songs. My take on Make Way for the Lady is that if you're looking for a special someone you need to get out of your own way before he/she can even show up. "Anytime you get lonely You just got to turn it around."

I got the sense that Lightfoot felt he knew how to turn that faucet off and on

And maybe he did/does. Wish he's teach me.

No Mistake About It is about the kind of women who are predators. And of course they're usually stunningly gorgeous too damn them. Think Black Widow.
