This magnificent Gordon Lightfoot tribute show by one of Edmontons most exciting and talented young performers - Watching 17 year old Benjamin Williams perform Canadian classics like 'Sundown' and 'If You Could Read My Mind' is really something to see and you will be glad you did -

Recovery Day Edmonton is proud to host this event as we kick off the fundraising campaing for 2017 - This year we are planning to go bigger than ever and host a "Concert For Recovery" in Churchill Square!

One of the leading singer/songwriters of the 1960s and '70s, Gordon Lightfoot was Canada's most successful contemporary folk artist, establishing himself as an important songwriter in the mid-'60s and going on to become a major international recording star in the following decade. Lightfoot's songs are literate but down to earth, and deal with personal matters as well as global issues in a manner that's poetic yet accessible, and his rich, strong voice is a superb vehicle for his material, though his songs are versatile enough that many artists have enjoyed success with his tunes.

Benjamin Williams is a musician, singer-songwriter and producer from Edmonton, Alberta whose unique and buoyant zest has quickly established him as one to watch in the local music scene. At the ripe old age of 17, he possesses an unmatched ability to captivate you with his outrageously charming personality and musical prowess, whether performing at concert halls, coffee shops, festivals, charity events or busking. His biggest influence and idol is undoubtably Gordon Lightfoot and there isn't a Gordon Lightfoot song that Benjamin doesn't know!

Martin Kerr is often compared to the best of the 1970 troubadours - Cat Stevens, James Taylor, John Denver - Martin's anthemic modern-folk connects with listeners of all ages. In true folk tradition, he takes his music to the people wherever he can. Starting at farmer's markets, and offering CDs from his guitar case, his independently released albums have sold 17,000 copies and counting.

Tickets - $25 - all proceeds go to Recovery Day Edmonton -
