I did well know that he paid ample tribute to my other musical hero , whose death enabled him to break into show business. here is a nice video of him with a group that looks nothing like the original Crickets

his cover of Buddy's True Love Ways is fantastic one comment from yesterday on a YouTube video page for it says it all really:-

I very well remember greatly enjoying Bobby's Rubber Ball whilst an undergraduate in London in 1961
Bobby had pretty well perfected that holly hiccup
