On 10Jan2015, Canadian quadriplegic Kevin Haley completed Australia's famous Lorne Pier To Pub 1.2Km (0.7 mile) ocean swimming race. The race is held every January (our summer) at Lorne on the Great Ocean Road, 2 hours south-west of Melbourne. It's the biggest open-water swimming race in the world. Mr Haley had never swum in open water before. His Australian partner entered him in the race before he knew about it.
