Default Re: ENGLEWOOD, New Jersey-July 16,2014

Due to a grand block party in a nearby street

the start was delayed by about ten minutes
There were no big surprises in this setlist: which is unusually and remarkably similar to the Northampton MA one from Sunday (to type it I only had to make a very few changes)
1.The Watchman's Gone
2.Waiting for You
3.All the Lovely Ladies
4.I'd Rather Press On
5.A Painter Passing Through
6.Drifters
7.Rainy Day People
8.Shadows
9.Beautiful
Another rambling intro followed
about a song that "had only been performed live two or three times"
Which was a rather inaccurate statement in view of the fact that this was the third time in
only six days and it is in four setlists from 1996 (March 1, 2, 23 and 28 to be exact)
(the intro also included a reference to a "ten year relationship" with a girl from either Miami or Florida.)
I supose that could be Cathy Coonley but Google was none too helpful although it did find an archived page from the Muntreal Gazette about Harry Tracey that is worth fighting the scrolling system to read (TIP: drag the displayed rectangular area, of the thumbnail at upper right, around to read more)

10.Much to My Surprise
11.Carefree Highway
the above 11 are identical to Sunday but next instead of one of Gord's songs that I personally like the least (Hangdog Hotel Room)
was
12.Cotton Jenny
13/14.Ribbon of Darkness/Sundown
īn which the three of us chimed in with "Over You"
Intermission

15.Sweet Guinevere
16.The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
then one of my favourites and the source of my corfid signature
17.Never Too Close
at this point Gord must have lost his presence of mind because he started singing
18. Karat Gold but was obvoiously having a problem remembering the lyrics because he suddenly was mouthing "La La La" then he quickly admitted defeat and muttered that they would now do an ""instrumental version"!
The band rallied around and inprovised for a few entertaining bars
19.Make Way for the Lady
20.Wild Strawberries
(no repeat by Gwen G of her Portland ME polkadot underwear throwing exercise!)
21.Let It Ride
22.If You Could Read My Mind
23.Restless
24.Baby Step Back
25.Early Morning Rain
26.Song for a Winter's Night
Encore:
27.In My Fashion
And so ended another great concert (my 92nd) see
