Default Set list / review - Terre Haute Oct. 28, 2013

Gord came out in the burgundy jacket for the 1st set:

1. The Watchman's Gone
Then told a joke : "What did the three-headed English monster say?" (in a cockney accent)
" 'ello, 'ello, 'ello !" (got a good laugh)
2. Waiting For You
3. Don Quixote
4. I'd Rather Press On
5. A Painter Passing Through
6. Christian Island
7. Rainy Day People
8. Shadows
9. Beautiful (this is my wife and I's song - we played it at our wedding and Gord dedicated it to us onstage at the Oct. 16, 1999 Elgin, Il concert). She was wondering when Gord was going to do it and - 'poof' there it was)
( band intros.)
10. Carefree Highway
11. Cotton Jenny
12. Ribbon Of Darkness (segue into)
13. Sundown
14. Did She Mention My Name

(intermission)

(Gord wore his gray jacket for the second half)
15. Sweet Guinevere
16. Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald
17. All The Lovely Ladies
18. Never Too Close
19. Clouds Of Loneliness (Gord said this was about his "second ex old lady". Went on to say he wasn't in the 21st Century yet. " I don't even own a cell phone. Luckily, I'm with people who do !")
20. Wild Strawberries ("polka dot underwear" got a small laugh from the crowd and a big "Whooo!" from myself)
21. Make Way For The Lady
22. Let It Ride
23. If You Could Read My Mind ( Always the best-performed song of the show. I swear he saves his voice for this one. About 8 or 9 people stood after the song, but couldn't get a S.O. from the whole crowd.)
24. Restless
25. Early Morning Rain
26. Baby Step Back

Encore:
27. Song For A Winter's Night

We were able to meet Barry Keane, Rick Haynes and Gordon after the show. Carter came out to the reception area, but got away from us before we got to him.

Was able to get Gord's autograph on our 'If You Could Read My Mind' and 'East Of Midnight' c.d.'s .

Also got good pictures with all three. (someday I'm going to get all of our pix with the guys from the last 14 years posted here on Corfid)

All in all a good show - a few weak notes, but hey it's still Gordon Lightfoot. I will go to see/hear G.L. until he chooses to retire, which I don't think will be any time soon.
