The melody is not one of Gord's better ones, and the tempo felt a bit rushed. But the combination of the lyrics and the images was very powerful.

I remember exactly the spot on our road where I was when the news came over the radio that President Kennedy had died.

And my mother was always very happy that I shared a birthday with Jackie.
