Default Re: Impersonating Lightfoot

I saw Andre Philippe in Chatham in September. It was in a newly reopened movie theatre - nice and small (1,200).

That was the third or fourth time I'd seen him in 15 or 20 years. And I'd go see him again in a heartbeat.

He changes his show up with each tour. This years show starts with 60 years of music in 60 minutes . . . He started with Bill Hailey and the Comets and ended with Susan Boyle (of Britain's got talent). In between he did dozens of (probably over a hundred impressions), including Lightfoot doing Carefree Highway. He is absolutely amazing. My favourite was the duet of Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole doing Unforgettable.

The second part (no intermission) featured the audience participation part in the clip (pick the Voice, Singer and Movements from three choices, and imitating a stranger from the crowd).

He closes with We are the World and Pink Panther.

He doesn't tour that much anymore. His regular gig is the opening act for Celine Dion in Las Vegas. So he's touring now that she is off on maternity leave. If you get a chance to see him, you should.
