Default Re: Black Day in Toronto

I stayed home today instad of heading into the city to see my dear Jory.
It is more than heartbreaking to see this happen in Toronto. Peaceful demonstrations and protesters overtaken by a few hundred thugs from lord knows were, who destroyed property, vandalized stores, attacked police, threw and set police cars on fire was horrifying to see. This happens at all of these summits, regardless of location. It's awful.
The police have shown incredible restraint for the most part. The legitimate protesters and demonstrators and their causes have been lost in the chaos caused by the thugs. Some are saying the violence was staged to justify the 1.1 billion dollars spent on security.
It's pouring rain and dark out now...it's going to be a long night.
And the G20 leaders and spouses are enjoying dinner while chaos is still happening in the city. Yonge street tonight is not the charming street in Toronto that our dear Gordon sings about..
I am beyond sad.
And we lost our 149th and 150th soldiers today in Afghanistan.
so sad.
