I think a big part of it is .. ta da! .. the internet. There are just so many ways to voice your opinion on the world stage these days. Back in the day when Sinatra was in his prime, other than professional critics for newspapers and maybe reviewers for fan magazines, how many other opinions did a person read? You didn't get a thumbs up or down from Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, no equivalent to Entertainment Tonight on TV, etc. So if a handful of people thought Ol' Blue Eyes was a little off in his rendition of "That's Life!" last night, who'd know?
