In my notes from Massey last November is a reminder to look at adding a captcha feature to the registration system used at corfid for new members since I reckoned that most if not all of the mindless drivel perpetrators who plague our Modem Maderator must be at best robots.
For those who do not know "Captcha" is a clever acronym for
"
Completely
Automated
Public
Turing test to tell
Computers and
Humans
Apart
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAPTCHA
which pleases me greatly since the "father of the modern computer" (Alan) Turing was an old boy of the "public" (ie private fee paying) school in my home town of Sherborne, Dorset, England

I knew there were free captcha programs around and intend to invoke one to protect the two guestbooks on my own website from entries by idiots. and I thought this might be the solution to the ongoing problem of spammers on corfid .
I have however just checked out the registration system here at corfid and having manually checked the box saying that I agreed to follow the rules here I was presented with this registration form, which as you can see already features a captcha.

This seems to indicate that the spammers are in fact not robots under human control; but actual perverts who have nothing better to do with their life than create mayhem true
malefactors of the internet population. Thank goodness for
benefactors like Florian and Char
So I am very sorry Char but it looks like your continuing efforts to remove the pests and their stoopid mesages will never end unless somebody has a better idea??
